Teaching Community Engagement at the Bauhaus Summer School

In August 2019, Heidi Sokolowsky from Urban Field Studio ventured out internationally to teach a course about Community Engagement at the Bauhaus University in Weimar, Germany, together with her colleague Maren Mögel. 14 students and practioners from 11 different countries participated in the course “Community Engagement in Urbanism and Architecture” as part of the Bauhaus Summer School.

Rose Center for Public Leadership in Land Use

Frank Fuller and Jane Lin of Urban Field Studio have proudly served as Faculty Advisors for The Rose Center for Public Leadership in Land Use. Frank Fuller worked with the cities of Louisville (2012-2013), Minneapolis (2009-2010), and Anchorage (2016-2017) and Jane worked with the City of Tucson (2017-2018). The Fellowship for Cities is a year long, and Faculty Advisors meet with the Fellows on a regular basis during the year.

Teaching Urban Design at Cal

Urban Field Studio has been long-time contributors to local Universities and programs. In Fall 2018, Jane Lin began to teach as a Lecturer for the College of Environmental Design at UC Berkeley. She taught Environmental Design 201, the Master of Urban Design Studio with John Ellis, at Mithun. For Fall 2019, Jane Lin is teaching City Planning 140: Urban Design and Placemaking, an undergraduate course for over 100 students in the College of Environmental Design.
